Unlike other recyclables which decompose in the landfill (paper) or are inert (glass), electronics pose an environmental hazard when they are improperly discarded. We have a comprehensive zero waste landfill policy: all material is refurbished, reused or recycled. Of course, there is some waste which is disposed of in compliance with local, state and federal regulations, not dumped along the road or shipped overseas. We’ve raced each other in go-karts. We made random foursomes and “played” golf when many of us had never held a club. We cheered on our teammates who mastered the art of axe throwing, after many of us quit out of frustration. Twice we’ve bowled strikes, spares and gutter balls. And most recently, we stood in the parking lot to watch the rare 2024 Total Solar Eclipse. With special glasses and cupcakes decorated with suns and moons, we gathered together to gaze upon this unique astronomical event. Just for fun.

Electronics Value Recovery was founded by industry veterans Matthew Young and Andrew Portare with the goal of maximizing the value and extending the life cycle of used electronics. While serving in executive roles for some of the nation’s largest electronics recyclers, Matthew and Andrew spent the past decade working to learn and optimize the supply chain surrounding the management of e-waste.
During one meeting together, they began discussing what a new industry partner might look like, one that could provide high- quality optimization and value recovery services to other industry organizations. As a result of this discussion, Electronics Value Recovery was formed.

All too often, electronics are disposed of before their true value can be recognized, regardless of the disposition process.
